You Are All Wrong

This is where I tell you what you already know, and then tell you why it's wrong. It sounds mean, doesn't it? Telling people that their long held beliefs are, in fact, long held hogwash sounds like something an angry thirteen year old would do.

Why should I care if you believe nonsense? After all this is your life, and what you believe doesn't really effect me, does it?

I'm afraid that it does, and sometimes one must be cruel to be kind.

You see I live in a world where my childrens textbooks bear ominous sounding warnings that 'Evolution is just a theory' but are told Newtonian mechanics are 'laws',  a world where Thomas Paine is quoted in arguments against socialism despite his many socialist ideals, and where our children are all taught that a formal educational system is the only way to learn successfully or to become a success in general.

In short, the world is wrong because we are wrong and these broken beliefs effect not only me, but my children as well and they must be stopped before they spread further.

All of us have some nonsense in us that we hold close to our core, and protect like it was our baby. We keep it warm, and nuzzle it close to us at night because our lies and our mistruths comfort us in the darkness.  I'm afraid that I'm going to have to take that comfort away from you, for all our sakes.

You are all wrong, and now I'm going to show you why.

If "everybody knows" such-and-such, then it ain't so, by at least ten thousand to one.
